Walter “J.R.” Dembiec, Jr.

EXECUTIVE VICE PRESIDENT & GENERAL COUNSEL

J.R. Dembiec Jr. joined Reside in August 2018 as executive vice president & general counsel, leading the firm’s expansion of strategic relationships and alliances with leading hospitality and travel organizations. He focuses on leveraging Reside’s global footprint and capabilities to provide clients, guests, and suppliers with value-added products and services while also aggressively growing the business. On the legal front, J.R.’s responsibilities include corporate governance, risk management, compliance, intellectual property, privacy, e-commerce, M&A, and related transactions.

J.R. brings 30 years of legal and business expertise to Reside. Most recently, he led BridgeStreet Global Hospitality, an international built-for-business online travel agency, as managing director supervising the Americas operations, sales, call center, real estate, international development, supply chain, legal, and human resources functions.

Previously, J.R. held legal and business roles of increasing responsibility with large public companies, including senior vice president and general counsel at Realogy Franchise Group, comprising 15,000 Coldwell Banker, Century 21, Sotheby’s Realty, and ERA offices in 100+ countries; group vice president at Cendant Corporation; vice president and general counsel for Century 21 Real Estate; and assistant general counsel and corporate secretary at Borg-Warner Protective Services.

Admitted to the state and federal courts in New Jersey and Washington, D.C., J.R. holds a Bachelor of Science degree from James Madison University in Harrisonburg, Virginia, and a J.D. degree from Seton Hall University in Newark, New Jersey.
